Curriculum Facilitator (Incubator Programs)

About the Job

To make the world work, for 100% of humanity, in the shortest possible time – this is the philosophy that inspires us, drives us, and motivates us. And if you’re a socially conscious educator, passionate about the power of business for good, and likewise driven to improve your community and the world, we want you to join us.

We’re RADIUS, a social innovation hub and venture activator at SFU’s Beedie School of Business. We’re on a mission to encourage the emergence of a healthy, sustainable economy for everyone. Working with community to understand tough problems, we seek to amplify radical doers and social ventures that will generate the impactful solutions society needs.

The success of our work to date means we’re looking for a new Curriculum Facilitator to join our team, and expand our work within the community. We’re hoping that’s you.

Curriculum Facilitator (Incubator Programs)

At the core, our mandate is to support “entrepreneurship in service of systems change.” As our new Curriculum Facilitator, you will help launch our clients to success by ensuring the successful delivery of our entrepreneurial education programs.

You’re a creative educator with exceptional design thinking and facilitation skills, and experience with the world of entrepreneurship. You’re comfortable designing and delivering high impact learning experiences and able to deeply engage with entrepreneurs working to tackle real social challenges. This knowledge and skill-set has been further honed by your exposure to ideas and work from groups like d-School, Singularity University, or Ideo.org and you know your way around a business model canvas or break-even analysis. Ideally, you’re someone who’s worked in the social entrepreneurial space and has previously launched your own project or venture.

Practically speaking, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and deliver variations of the Trampoline business model validation program and Slingshot accelerator to cohorts across RADIUS’ problem-focused Lab programs (in areas like Refugee Livelihoods, Health Promotion, and more)

  • With the RADIUS team, support program promotion, recruitment, participant screening and intake processes

  • Act as the primary point of contact and engagement for entrepreneurs participating in the entrepreneurial education program

  • With senior management, work on continual improvement to program design, curriculum elements

  • Coordinate our program delivery, including the coordination of guest speakers and co-facilitators, program-related public events, mentors, advisors, entrepreneurs-in-residence and other program supporters

  • Day-to-day program logistics, cohort communication, etc.

Working @ RADIUS

This is a full-time position, working out of our office in the Charles Chang Innovation Centre. There will be occasional evening and weekend work as required by the program, as well as occasional travel for program delivery.

We offer an attractive salary in the $68,000-$82,000 range, commensurate with experience.

If you’re a creative, multi-modal educator with a deep passion for social innovation, you’ll fit right in here. We are all incredibly passionate about our work, and committed to improving the world for everyone.

  • Post-secondary degree or certificate in education, or commensurate experience

  • Knowledge of and experience in core frameworks in entrepreneurial development, including human-centered design, sprint planning, lean start-up, and business model development

  • Experience in a venture development capacity - eg. venture lab, incubator, capital provider and/or entrepreneurial context - is a definite asset

  • Familiarity with the regional social venture community

  • Experience having launched your own innovative or entrepreneurial project or venture is a definite asset

  • Experience and aptitude in working across cultures, education levels and business sectors, with particular exposure to work in Indigenous and/or immigrant contexts.
