An Exciting Opportunity Awaits
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Utility Tree Trimmer to join our dedicated team in Alberta on a full-time basis.
Based in Rocky Mountain House, we are just one hour from Red Deer and two hours from both Calgary and Edmonton. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to enjoy the natural splendor of rural life, while still being within reach of the city.
In this role, you'll be responsible for the removal of trees and vegetation that could come into contact with power lines, helping to maintain the reliability of power lines and ensure the safety of customers, the general public and field staff of Rocky REA.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
* Inspect and vehicle, equipment, and materials prior to travel to job site * Review assigned job sites, check in with operator-in-charge * Visually inspect each site and assess for safety related factors * Review/assign work among crew * Trim, slash, mulch, remove vegetation and trees around power lines * Train and orient new staff and monitors work performance * Document and complete Vegetation Management Report (VMR), timesheets * Complete snow removal in the mornings (seasonal) * Keep Vegetation Crew Foreman updated on a regular basis

This is a full-time Monday to Friday role with the flexibility to conduct field work outdoors.
The Ideal Candidate
To qualify for this role, you'll have a Utility Tree Trimmer Certificate and two (2) years of relevant experience. A Mulcher Certificate is also considered an asset.
The ability to learn and participate in the delivery of a successful vegetation management system is required, as is the ability to prepare and complete reports, logbooks, inspections, time records, etc.
The successful candidate will also have:
* Familiarity with trucks, chippers, mulchers, trim saws and two-way radios * A valid driver's license and clear driver's abstract * Occupational Health and Safety training, including WHMIS and First Aid/CPR * The ability to read maps/GPS
