Senior Formulation Scientist

About the Job

Our client is a leading innovative and generic drug manufacturing company and is currently looking for a Senior Formulations Scientist to join their highly qualified team.

 

Job requirements

 

The suitable candidate will be responsible for the development and pilot plant scale-up of novel and generic formulations in the areas of solid, oral, immediate and modified release dosage forms. The suitable candidate should be an experienced scientist with hands-on experience in formulation development. The job responsibilities involve working in the lab as a Senior Scientist and assisting the Director in coordinating with the pilot plant, warehouse and Analytical groups. The job responsibilities involve the development and technology transfer of oral dosage forms for NDS/ANDS submission, carrying out the development work on a new project or ongoing project, reviewing and coordinating with the analytical department for testing results, recommending changes or improvements to the manufacturing or formulation process, making presentations and writing reports to senior management describing progress of the projects, tracking development activities of on-going projects and achieving development targets with respect to timelines and cost allocations, ensuring all activities are performed in accordance with the corporate standard operating procedures (SOP), guidelines and safety standards

 

Education and Training

 

Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Sciences (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Pharmaceutical Technology).  B.Sc. will also be considered depending on experience.

 

Experience

 

Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in the development of solid, oral, immediate and modified-release dosage forms. The experience should have been acquired preferably in a generic pharmaceutical industry

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

 

Fully conversant with formulation development steps and procedures, knowledge of regulatory affairs and guidelines for Canadian, American and European submissions, working knowledge of evaluating patents and literature prior arts, able to work under challenging timelines, knowledge base in Microsoft Word and Excel packages, good observation and innovative skills, detailed knowledge of Pharmaceutical manufacturing process, excipients and GMP principles.
