Role Summary/Purpose:

As a member of the Customization Services team you will analyze and design complex software specifications based on the business requirements of our clients.


Responsibilities

  • Convert requirements into technical and functional specifications for large complex projects

  • Provide project estimates

  • Develop and enhance new and existing applications

  • Write, test, and deploy code using established standards and procedures

  • Understand and adhere to specifications

  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing software according to company standards and procedures

  • Designs and delivers formal or informal training

  • Mentor and support other developers

  • Review deliverables and provide performance feedback

  • Recommend process and technical improvements

  • Prepare High Level Estimates (HLEs) for larger projects

  • Prepare installation documentation

  • Provide post installation support


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Commerce (Major MIS) or appropriate computer science related certificate

  • 6-10  years experience in development

  • Expertise with the development life-cycle methodologies and best practices

  • Experience creating and working with specifications

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities

  • Write solid code quickly with minimal defects

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Knowledge of one or more object oriented languages (C#, C++, Visual Basic) as well as SQL.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%


Assets:

  • Past experience/knowledge of Retail software (Point of Sale, Merchandising, Sales Audit, etc).
