Dental Assistant

About the Job

You have a passion for bringing smiles to faces, along with a natural ability to deliver cheer to any room you enter. You’re outgoing, caring, and love getting to know others.

So how would you like to work somewhere you can inspire and build beautiful smiles every day? We’re Kesteven Dental Care Studio, and we’re looking for you, our newest Dental Assistant.

You don’t need dental experience to succeed in this role – bring your positive attitude, your love for people and your customer service experience, and we’ll “fill in” the rest.

With us, you’ll have more than just a job. You’ll have a role where you can learn new skills, and a team with who you can grow your dental career. We can’t wait to meet you!

Dental Assistant:

As our newest Dental Assistant, you’ll join our close-knit team to provide support to our dentist and clients.

You’ll work closely with clients before and after they’re seen by the dentist. You’ll make them feel comfortable as you prepare them for dental treatment, using your compassion, kindness and good humour to ease their nerves and inspire trust.

Often, you’ll be their advocate, as you work with them to develop and provide the best treatment plans. You have a natural ability to turn strangers into friends, and you’ll build strong relationships that will keep clients coming back.

You’ll prepare rooms by setting up and cleaning instruments, and ensuring that supplies are well-stocked. In a fast-paced environment like ours, priorities change quickly, so you’ll need to be accommodating and flexible to adjust rooms, materials, and supplies for changing needs and clients.

You don’t need any dental experience to succeed in this role. Rather, you need to be:

  • Motivated – You’re interested in pursuing a career in the dental field, and you have a strong desire to learn how to be an excellent dental assistant.

  • Interested in people – you care about patients as people. You have empathy and strong listening skills. You’ll remember details about our clients that will make them feel special.

  • Customer-service oriented – client satisfaction is your top priority, and you do what it takes to make sure all our clients leave with a smile.

The Details:

This is a full-time, permanent position working in our studio in Mission, BC.

We’re open Tuesday to Friday, and schedule patients during these times: Tuesday & Wednesday from 7 am to 4 pm, Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Friday from 7 am to 2 pm. You’ll be expected to work these hours, coming in before patients arrive to prepare, and staying after they leave to help us close.

You’ll be paid between $26,000 and $32,000 per year, depending on your experience. Every month, you’ll receive a bonus based on our team performance. Generally, this will range between 10-20% in addition to your salary, but can sometimes be 40 % or more.

You’ll have medical expense coverage, and will receive dental care services in house. We cover the costs of continuing education you undergo, and take between 8 to 10 weeks of time off every year.
