About the Job

Do you want to build a meaningful career in a thriving and welcoming company?

Do you want to go to work every day with awesome people who want you to succeed – and rely on you for their success too?

Do you want to learn how a prosperous and environmentally-conscious business runs – from the inside out?

If so, Walker Environmental in Woodbridge, ON could be the place for you.

Walker Environmental

Walker Environmental, a division of Walker Industries, is a leading waste management and resource recovery company.  We operate two landfills, a waste transfer facility, six biosolids stabilization plants, two composting facilities, four organics collection and recycling facilities, several landfill gas renewable energy projects in Ontario and Manitoba, and a waste haulage company.

We take a sustainable approach to collection and most organics recovered are converted into renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gases and waste to landfill.

The high standard of our services, technology, and environmental stewardship sets us apart from others in the industry – and has created fast-paced growth across Canada.

Today, we are seeking a dynamic individual who possesses:  excellent communication skills, superior customer service experience in a call center environment, and strong computer proficiency to join our Customer Service Team in Woodbridge, ON.

Customer Service Representative

As a member of our customer service team, you will be delivering front line customer service support for our food industry customers located across Canada. We will provide you with a comprehensive training program that allows you to work at the highest level of efficiency.

Your goal as a customer service rep is to delight customers. Specifically you’ll:

  • Dispatch drivers and vehicles to routine and emergency grease trap cleaning

  • Address customer inquiries about their accounts, schedules, and services

  • Follow up with customers who need extra information or attention, ensuring each one gets what they need

The best customer service reps are organized and detail-oriented – they can create complex dispatch plans in an efficient way. They are relentless problem-solvers, staying with a customer, following up, until the customer is thrilled. And they are people-people, who love to help customers and each other thrive.

Add to that a positive attitude and willingness to learn, and you’ll have limitless opportunity to gain skills and advance your career at Walker Environmental.

The following qualifications will help you stand out:

  • Experience in a customer service role

  • Experience in inbound or outbound calling or call centre

  • Exceptional telephone etiquette coupled with active listening skills

  • Experience in scheduling, routing and dispatching trucks is strongly preferred.

  • Proficient computer navigation and keyboarding skills

  • High school diploma or GED

Practical Stuff

This is a full-time, permanent Monday to Friday role.

Competitive salary plus comprehensive group benefits and pension eligibility are part of the overall package.
