The Advertising Copywriter is responsible for producing advertising and marketing copy solutions. The Advertising Copywriter works closely with project teams and clients to develop concepts and write effective copy that meets clients’ business objectives and maximizes the impact of each marketing message. The Advertising Copywriter is also responsible for executing and understanding the copy editing function ensuring the grammatical, legal and factual accuracy in all copy when it is first delivered to designers/clients. The Advertising Copywriter may also act as a proofreader when needed for all print, web and collateral materials.


 


 


Job Responsibilities:


 


•Write creative, effective, original copy for multiple projects at once, across a variety of media.


• Develop creative concepts for campaigns and marketing pieces.


• Participate in brainstorming sessions with designers and project teams to develop creative ideas and concepts.


• Deliver complete, error-free copy formatted in standardized template, with all necessary legal language and registration marks.


• Work independently to execute assigned projects through the production stage to completion.


• Keep team members and managers informed of copy changes with regular project updates and revisions.


• Liaise with clients to understand their business objectives, interpret their briefs and apply them to copy.


• Amending, revising or redeveloping adverts or campaigns in response to feedback from the creative director, account team or clients.


• Develop and maintain all copy standards throughout project.


• Provide proactive leadership on copy for all assigned projects.


• Update digital media with snappy, timely content.


• Accountability across all levels for adhering to project timelines, client support, and service.


• Inform manager about any work-related issues and maintain constant contact with the assigned Project Manager and/or Associate PM and design teams. Keep abreast of project's status.


Collaborate with production companies, photographers, typographers, designers and printers.


• Use and update the Kitco Style Guide, as necessary.


• Understand basic legal principles, including copyrights and trademarks.


• Be familiar with Kitco marketing research and apply it as necessary to projects.


Becoming familiar with clients’ products/services, target audience and their competitors’ activities.


• Keep up to date with popular culture and trends.


• Monitor the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.


 


 


Requirements:


 


• 5 years copywriting or agency experience.


B.A or higher in English Literature, Journalism, Communication or Arts Studies.


Experience with advertising and product launches.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office, and Online technology.


• Excellent organizational, time management, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills.


• Ability to meet short deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.


Highly creative and show initiative and be proactive.


Ability to articulate thoughts clearly and demonstrate great attention to detail.


• Ability to interface with all levels of management.


• Excellent English and knowledge of French an asset.


A solid background in writing copy for the investment/business/financial sector.


• Precious Metals industry experience a plus.
