Accounting Manager

About the Job

You’re bright and knowledgeable, with a mind for entrepreneurial business and the tenacity to succeed. You’re looking for the perfect opportunity to make a big impact with your exceptional skills in accounting and your dedication to precision.

We’re looking for someone like you. We’re Beyond Wireless, an independently owned, authorized Rogers Dealer and wireless solutions provider. This won’t be just another job for you; here, you’ll have an exciting, challenging, and rewarding career.

We’ve recently expanded our reach across three provinces after merging with another independent wireless provider. Now, we’re seeking a groundbreaking Accounting Manager – someone talented, hungry, and ready to make an immediate and significant impact with an exceptional organization.

Accounting Manager

Your goal in this position is to lead and develop our accounting department while ensuring compliance and accuracy for all monthly and year-end financials.

Using a sound understanding of accounting principles and tax laws, you will take the reins of our accounting processes to drive the evolution and strengthening of our financial department. As a leader in the organization, you’ll provide financial oversight for the entire department and coordinate statements, records, and profit trajectories.

Leading a small team of junior professionals, you’ll deliver reliable information and records related to large and small-scale financials including AR and AP. Between maintaining the integrity of consequential accounts and overseeing the work of others, you’ll track the profitability of accounts and provide reports and explanations where necessary.

Your leadership skills will be key to your success in this role, as you guide your team to improve existing processes and procedures while maintaining current levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Practically speaking, you will:

  • Coordinate and manage external audits

  • Prepare month-end and year-end financials and audits

  • Coordinate with AP and AR for financial statements

  • Prepare internal financial statements

  • Provide guidance and leadership for managers in terms of financial control procedures

  • Identify areas for increased profitability and general improvement

You work independently, and can effectively problem solve and make decisions, which is why you’ll be great in this role.

Most importantly you’ll bring experience, confidence, and expertise to this role.

Working @ Beyond Wireless

This is a full-time, permanent position working out of our beautiful Sudbury location. You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm with some flexibility. We offer an excellent starting salary between $55,000 and $70,000 per year, depending on your experience.

You’ll also receive full benefits and 3 weeks paid vacation. We believe in hiring the best people for every position, which means that you’ll have access to talented support personnel. Whether you need help from below or above, you’ll have everything you need to succeed.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a management accounting role

  • Experience producing monthly financial statements and analysis, encompassing AR/AP, G/L, and payroll

  • Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and ASPE standards and regulations

  • Experience leading/managing a small finance team

  • Experience coordinating external financial audits

  • Past security clearance, or ability to obtain it

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, commerce, business administration or related

  • CPA designation, or be working towards certification
